Football Play Designer

Draw football plays in your browser and turn them into a printable playbook. Pick a formation, drag players, tap out routes, then save, download a PNG or print a wristband sheet. A free football play maker with no sign-up and no limit on plays.

No sign-up. Plays are saved in this browser only.

Your playbook

Saved plays show up here. Print them as a playbook (one play per half page) or as a wristband sheet (8 small plays to cut out).

How to use the football play designer

    1. Choose the format and formation. 11-man, 7v7 or 5v5 flag, then a formation such as Shotgun spread, I-formation or Trips. Press Flip to mirror it to the other side.
    2. Place the players. In Move, drag anyone to a new spot. Tap a player to change the letter on it (X, Z, H, RB…) or its color.
    3. Draw the routes. In Route, tap a receiver, then tap each break point on the field. Double-tap or press Finish route when done. Drag from a player instead to sketch a route in one stroke. Use Motion for pre-snap movement (dashed) and Block for linemen (ends in a T).
    4. Save and print. Name the play, add a coaching note and press Save to playbook. When the set is ready, print the playbook or a wristband sheet, or save it as PDF from the print dialog.

    Playbook and wristband printing

Print playbook puts every saved play on its own block with its number and name, plus the coaching note if you wrote one, on a white field so it doesn't eat your ink. Print wristband sheet shrinks the same plays to a numbered grid you can cut out for a QB wristband or a play card. Both use your browser's print dialog, so "Save as PDF" gives you a file to send to assistant coaches. For game day, the football play call sheet page sorts the same plays by situation onto one page.

    Why this one

Coaches look for this as a play maker, a play creator or a play diagram tool; here it is one page that does all three. Most free play designers ask you to create an account before you can save or print, or cap the free plan at a handful of plays. This one keeps everything in your browser: nothing is uploaded, there's no account, and the number of plays you can save is limited only by your browser's storage. If you coach flag, the flag football play designer opens with a 5v5 field and flag formations.

    FAQ

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It's free and there is no account. Plays are saved in your browser's storage on this device, and you can download any play as a PNG to keep a copy or send it to your staff.

    Can I draw defense too?

Yes. Pick the 4-3 (11-man), Cover 2 (7v7) or zone (5v5) set from the Formation menu to drop in a defense, or add single defenders with + Defender.

How do I draw a curved route like a wheel or a corner fade?

Tick Curved before drawing, or drag from the player in one stroke. The line is smoothed through every point you tap.

Will it work on an iPad on the sideline?

Yes. Tap and drag work with a finger, and once the page has loaded it doesn't need a connection to keep working.

Can I share a play with my team?

Download the PNG and send it in your team chat, or print the playbook to PDF from the print dialog and share the file.
